trey johnson “the builder”

Trey started woodworking his freshman year of high school and honestly never stopped. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force because he wanted more than a small town could offer. He wanted to see the world, push himself, and figure out what he was made of. For four years he did exactly that, serving as a bomber aircraft mechanic on the B-52 and the B-2 stealth bomber. He was good at it. He loved it. He thought that was the plan.

God had something else in mind. When his time in the Air Force was up, Trey came home and came back to what had always been in his hands. The more his faith has grown, the more he sees woodworking not just as a skill but as a genuine gift from God. He's a carpenter by trade and by calling. And there's something that still stops him in his tracks when he thinks about the fact that Jesus was one too.

Ingrid Johnson “The Designer”

Co-founder + Creative Director

Ingrid has been a creative person, behind a camera, hook, paper and more since she was 12 years old. That love for capturing real life moments turned into “Imagery by Ingrid”, her own photography business that she built from the ground up and ran for five years photographing weddings, elopements, and couples who wanted generational heirlooms that actually felt like love. Five years of running a real business taught her a lot. Client experience, branding, creative direction, what it actually takes to make something work and grow.

Recently she felt the Holy Spirit nudging her toward something new. She announced she'll be closing Imagery by Ingrid in 2027 to go all in alongside Trey and give Tougher Than Nails her full, undivided attention.

It was a big decision but an easy one once she felt that nudge. She gets to keep doing creative work she loves and pour everything she has learned into something that belongs to their family. She could not be more excited about what God is building through them.
